Some seasons are hard.
Some times bring questions.
Are we really on the right side?
Does it really matter?
Why isn’t good easy?
Why is good usually the opposite of easy?
I’ve been assuaged by a lot of these feelings in this particular season and I’ve felt there isn’t much of a point.
Sometimes I need something or someone to jolt me out of a wave of feelings.
I need reminders that God hasn’t called us to live by our feelings.
He’s called us to live by faith. That usually means turning our backs on our feelings and facing the facts written in his book.
The North that remains unshakable.
A lot of the world views scripture as a historical book with information they consider debatable. Consequently, a lot of the world remains untethered and follows every fleeting cultural trend
We are called to live on facts set in eternity.
Evil will not win over good.1
Weeping may endure for a night, but JOY comes in the morning.2
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.3
The Lord works in us both to will and to do for his good pleasure.4
That which is unseen is more real than that which is unseen.5
Translation.
God is stronger and God is on our side.
Death is never the end
Bad times will be replaced by better times
God is the one who fights, and He gives us power the world cannot comprehend.
My feelings are fleeting. God’s facts are immutable
We are on the winning side.
It does matter.
It may not be easy but God has anointed us for hard.
Courage is a choice.
God has given us that choice.
Time to take a deep breath and press on.
